Job Title: System Software Design Engineer

Ref: FSD-SDE3

Job Description:

FarSite are developing an exciting new range of advanced communications products, we need engineers able to develop high quality systems and communications protocol software for these products. The products will be sold all over the world.

This job will include:

  • Designing systems, including writing design specifications (in English).
  • Writing portable code in ‘C’, C#, C++ targeted at Linux, Windows and embedded platforms.

You will be working in Shekou, Shenzhen with our team of Software Development Engineers and also with the Engineers at our UK office.

There may be opportunities to work at our UK office for short periods of time for some projects.

Minimum Experience, at least 2 years after leaving University:

  • Writing system software, communications software
  • Writing in C, C#, C++
  • Able to read and write in English and follow a functional specifications written in English

Desirable experience:

  • Writing Linux device drivers

Minimum Qualifications:

Computer Programming Degree or similar

The Interview Process

There will be a one to one interview with a member of our Chinese staff and also an interview in English with a Director of the company. You will also be asked to complete a test of your programming skill.

The staff at FarSite’s office in Shenzhen develop and test new products and support FarSite’s current communications products working in conjunction with the Engineering team in the UK office.
